Fuji represented the Mind… limited and pristine, cool and precise, soaring into the heavens. Seclusion Hill represented the Heart: so loving, hardworking, gem-like, jewel of understanding, the entrance to the Soul, the connection between lover and Beloved, the coming together (barakah) of the human and the Divine, the connection to the One. So, this book began at that moment when I stopped to photograph the hill in the far distance; all of this came together in that moment, but… the writing of the poems would take almost forty years and many other books to be written, but… I always knew that (God-willing) one day I would finish it.
